proj-lhcfeedback: Progress info about the LHC orbit feedback control system

This project is about continually (~10 Hz) adjusting the LHC beam positions based on measurements around the rings.

LHC power converters

Questions being investigated: Will ROCS have a "time to apply" field in 2004? (Michel Jonker: Yes, but not already at startup. New method being agreed upon, and also registration coming later.) Will the LHC power converters have it for the real-time data channel? (Stephen Page is looking at it.)

Update Aug 18, 2004: Orbit server version 2 tested for network performance, PCR-Point 8 (preview), good in general but 20-minute minor hickups. Three timing cards (2 CTRP, 1 CTRI) used to emulate BPM acquisition triggering. Server also tested with Ralph Steinhagen's testbed. No LHC type beam in SPS before October.
